The production process of ceramics is divided into four stages: raw material processing, forming, firing, and decoration.
Firstly, there is the processing of raw materials. The raw materials for ceramics mainly include clay, quartz, feldspar, etc. These raw materials need to be sorted to remove impurities, and then crushed, ground, and mixed to ensure that the ceramic products have a uniform composition by intensive mixer or planetary mixer ,
Next is the molding stage. Molding is the process of processing raw materials into specific shapes. There are mainly two methods: manual molding and machine molding. Handmade molding requires skilled craftsmen to use their skills to bond the raw materials together and form the desired shape. Machine forming refers to the use of mechanical equipment such as presses, injection molding machines, etc. for forming. The formed product usually needs to undergo drying treatment to further remove moisture.
Then comes the firing stage. Firing is the process of placing formed ceramic products into a kiln for high-temperature heating. The firing temperature and time may vary depending on the type of ceramic and the requirements of the finished product. During the firing process, ceramic products will gradually undergo reactions such as drying, dehydration, embryo hardening, and crystallization, ultimately forming dense and hard ceramic products,
Finally, there is the decoration stage. Decoration is to enhance the aesthetic appeal and decorative effect of ceramic products. Common decoration methods include painting, decal glaze painting, etc. Color painting is the use of pigments to paint on finished products, decals are the printing of patterns and designs on ceramic surfaces, and glaze painting is the dyeing of ceramic surfaces after firing. After the decoration is completed, a secondary firing is usually required to fix the decorative layer.
In general, the production process of ceramics includes four stages: raw material processing, mixing ,which is use reliable ceramic mixer is necessary ,molding, firing, and decoration. Each stage requires fine craftsmanship and strict control to produce high-quality ceramic products.
